Gnocchi

We made Gnocchi last night!!!

well this first picture is mint tea from the Mosque we went to.......I will post some pictures of it when Camille sends them to me :)

1: we cut the potatoes into small cubes and boiled them

2: we mashed them with a fork

3: then kneaded the flour and egg in

4: we then rolled them into logs and cut them  

We had them with butter and rosemary.

We did not expect them to turn out so good, but they were amazing!!!

I finally got my train ticket to Austria. September 3rd at 17h40 I get into Imst.

We spent the morning cleaning and making dinner. We where then going to walk to Pere Lachaise but its raining :( So we will spend the rest of the day writing post cards, and German for me.

We will probably watch a movie tonight.

The Ballet Class

I finally went to a ballet class with Lina

Lina had been twice before and really likes the teacher. 

I enjoyed the class because the combinations were simple and easy, but hard because every combo is done twice in a row!!

Here is the studio after class (I snuck back in to take this) there are windows on the right as well, the shutters are closed. I really love the studio because it looks out onto a little inner courtyard that has a restaurant called The Studio.

They call the studios after composers (so the dancers learn them?)

I got a picture of the teacher when he came up to the dressing room after class to find the owner of a jacket that was left in the studio. He is really what you expect a French ballet teacher to be. But I did get him to smile. 

I was not expecting him to be a such a good teacher, but he really knows about placement and everything.

Lina and I and one other girl were always in the front row........and if we went to the back he would come and take us by the wrist and walk us to the front.

We went to the Musee Rodin yesterday.

Paris is magical and I am under its spell.

The Last Day

On the last day of the music festival (Friday the 4th) we went to the most beautiful chateau. It was my favorite!!! I had fun picking out what room I would have if I lived there :)

Marie's mom played the piano, and her dad Vladimir played the violin in the concert. Vladimir was also my chamber teacher, he is Russian and a very good music teacher!!

I played guitar last night because I really missed playing!! not what I was expecting after two weeks of not really wanting to practice.
